Registros de varamientos de grandes cetáceos en la costa de Chile - período 2003-2004

Resumen

Se entregan seis eventos de varamientos de cetáceos mayores, documentados por personal especializado que accedió directa o indirectamente a los restos. Los eventos se distribuyen entre la V a la XII Regiones Y corresponden todos a sólo dos géneros: Physeter y Balaenoptera. Se discute también sobre el acceso a material biológico, su administración y catálogo

Abstract

Stranding events of big cetaceans in the coast of Chile within 2003-2004. Six stranding events of btg cetaceans are reponed, all of which were recorded by specialized teams. Events were found between V (Val paraíso) and XII (Magallanes) Administrative Regions of Chile, and two genera were mvolved, Physeter and Ba/aenoptera. This note also discusses the access to the biologic material, its management and catalogue.
